Simplify supports a **Status Message** to the POS. This message is sent to the POS to provide it with status information on the current transaction.

The **Status** message is informational only and does not follow the general rules for recovery after a timeout. See :magic-link[Message and Communications Protocols]{id="message-and-communications-protocols"} for details.

This message does not contain field 5001. The only fields are API 0001 (Tran Type = 36), API 0011 and API 5002 (Device Serial Number). See :magic-link[Simplify-Controlled Field Definitions]{id="simplify-controlled-field-definitions"} for the use of API 0011.
