For each transaction response, Fusebox returns a Gateway response code in API Field 1003 and Gateway response text in API Field 1010. The response code is to be evaluated by the integrated POS/PMS system to determine if a transaction was successful or not. 

Response code (API 1003) and response text (API 1010) and a description of each are identified below.

|   0244  |   TOKEN NOT FOUND  |  	The token provided in API field 0003 was not found and could not be detokenized for processing.| 
|   0280  |   VOLTAGE ERROR  |    	Decryption of the account data using Voltage failed.|        
|   0281  |   Verifone ERROR  |   	Decryption of the account data using Verifone failed.| 
|   0282  |   PROTEGRITY ERROR  |      The Tokenization/Detokenization of the account data using Protegrity failed.|        
|   0283  |   	SAFETY ERROR  |  Tokenization or Encryption processing failed.|   
|   0284  |   	VOLTAGE COMPLETE  |    The Voltage Encryption Initialization was successful.|

## Issuer response codes (1022) and text (1023)

**Card issuer response code (1022)**
- Code returned from the card brand issuer that indicates the reason a transaction was unsuccessful and what further actions may be taken.
- If this field is returned, the POS must evaluate API field 1000 to determine the card type and display the card type and card issuer response code to the end user.
- Merchants must then follow the rules and guidelines for that response code established by the card brand.

**Card issuer response text (1023)** 
- Brief text description explaining the transaction status based on the corresponding code returned in API field 1022.
- Merchants must take the appropriate action in accordance with card brand’s rules and guidelines.
