Lane/5000
To configure the Lane 5000 card reader for IP connectivity, you will need the following items:
- Vbox
- Ethernet Cable
- Card Reader
- Power Cord
- Account for processing against Converge
To configure the Lane 5000 card reader for IP connectivity, complete the following steps:
For USB connectivity, refer to Configure Lane 5000 for USB Connectivity.
Configure the Card Reader to Communicate via IP
Unplug then replug the power source to restart the device. The device will display a few different screens as it boots up.
When the Welcome screen appears press 2, 6, 3, 4 to go to the menu settings.
Press F to see the menu
In the main menu screen, tap the TDA option.
Tap Configuration
Tap Communication in the Configuration menu
Tap Select Comm. Type in the Communication menu
Tap ETHERNET then tap the green button on the lower right of the screen
Your device is now enabled to use IP.
Configure the IP Parameters
Tap Ethernet Settings on the Communication menu
Tap Connection Method on Ethernet menu
Tap Server and then tap green button on lower right of screen
Tap Boot Protocol on Ethernet menu
Tap DHCP and then tap green button in lower right corner of screen
Scroll down on the Ethernet menu until you see IP Port then tap IP Port.
Confirm the value is 12000 for IP Port then press green button. If not equal to 12000, press 1, 2, 0, 0, and 0 on the keypad. If you prefer a different IP port number, enter a value between 1024 and 65536.
Press green button to save your changes if any.
Get the Assigned IP Address
Press the Red (Cancel) button repeatedly until the Save and Reboot? screen appears
Tap Yes on the screen
After the device reboots and the Welcome screen appears, press 0, 0, 0, 0 and scroll down to the bottom of the screen by sliding your finger up while touching the screen.
Take note of the IP address assigned to the card reader. This is the IP address to use when initializing Commerce SDK.
If the IP address is 0.0.0.0, check the current Ethernet port or try a different Ethernet port.
Enable SSL on the Card Reader
Upon initialization, Commerce SDK will update the card reader with the required device files. HOW WILL CSDK INITIALIZE? The card reader reboots.
Unplug then replug the power source to restart the device. Several screens appear as the device boots up.
When the Welcome/This Lane Closed screen appears, press 2, 6, 3, 4 to go to the menu settings.
Press F button
In the main menu screen, tap the TDA option.
Tap Configuration
Tap Communication
Tap Ethernet Settings
Scroll down and tap SSL
Tap TLSv1_2 then tap the green button
Press the Red button repeatedly until the Save and Reboot? screen appears
Tap Yes to reboot device
Configure Lane 5000 for USB Connectivity
Unplug then replug the power source to restart the device.
When the Welcome/This Lane Closed screen appears, press the 2, 6, 3, 4.
Press the F button.
In the main menu screen, tap TDA on the screen.
Tap Configuration on the screen.
Tap Communication.
Tap Select Comm. Type.
Tap USB_CDC and then tap the green circle in lower right corner
Press the Red (Either on keypad or screen) button repeatedly until the Save and Reboot? screen appears.
Tap Yes.
The device will restart with that the settings will take effect.
